When we started planning our Woodland Party we wanted to come up with something a little different. An obvious go-to for our dessert table would have been s’mores. They’re so popular! We see them everywhere on Pinterest and we even make them every time we are throwing a party for our Sister, Sara. They’re one of her favourites, so they even made an appearance at the welcome party we threw for her little guy. We wanted to have the vibe of a s’more, but make something different. We started brainstorming about something we could make in the realm of a s’more without actually making one.
We made Campfire Treats!
They have elements of their classic counterpart, but hold their own very nicely as a variation. They’re also super tasty and passed with flying colours when tested on Shelagh’s partner, Bryan. The leftovers didn’t last long!
Just like s’mores, these Campfire Treats are easy to make and a really fun activity to do with your little sprinkle. And it makes a perfect rainy day activity, since it can all be accomplished in your kitchen! Check out the recipe below!
Four simple ingredients for this fun and easy Campfire Treat!
Cover a tray with parchment paper and add piles of chocolate chips. Melt them in the oven for about 5 minutes.
Add your wood! Pile the pretzels on top of the glistening chocolate chips just like logs on a campfire.
Add your marshmallows and continue baking for 5 minutes.
Remove them from the oven and drizzle with melted chocolate chips. It’s the glue that keeps them together!
Add your sprinkles! Then chill in the freezer until they’re set. (About 30 minutes).

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
Make small piles of chocolate chips on a baking tray, and put them in the oven for about 5 minutes. (Until they get a bit melty.)
From the oven, add piles of pretzel sticks. Make sure they stick to the melted chocolate because that’s the glue!
Add your mini marshmallows. We used 3.
Return them to the oven for about 5 more minutes
Drizzle your campfires with melted chocolate to ensure everything glues together.
Chill in freezer until set. About 30 minutes.
The finished result added so much fun to our table, and we’re so in love with the final result. Such a fun way to celebrate a little boy.
