We’ve been filling etsy orders and filling orders from the shop and planning a wedding. (My wedding!) Holy smokes has that been a lot of work. I’m getting married this June and we still have so much crafting and planning and DIY’ing to do!
We are having our reception in our backyard and we didn’t hire a wedding planner (which might have been a mistake). This has brought up a whole list of things to do that I never would have imagined. We’ve rented toilets and a tent and picked chairs and linens, but we want our family and friends to feel welcome at our home. We want it to feel personal (doesn’t everyone) and like ‘us‘ and we hope the joyful feeling we have about starting our married life together will translate the day we tie the knot.
We’re serving family recipes and playing music from concerts we’ve been to together and I’m even making a quilt with fabric contributed by our guests. We really hope that everything we imagine about our wedding day happens.
This is the primary reason for our lack of blogging. When we have extra time, we’ve been cutting out table numbers and making photo booth props. Shelagh has been over weekly to work on wedding things and while it’s been a pretty fun process, it has divided our attention. After June, we’ll get back to blogging, but in the mean time, I have my wedding shower to look forward to this weekend where the only details I’m aware of are the fact that it will be brunch, and they’ll be using my favourite “bride to be” cake topper.
We can’t wait to tell you about all the other details.
